Weightless. All about him, a sense of weightlessness. He felt the ground at his back, but it was soft and malleable. The receptors on his arms and legs told him that everything in the surrounding atmosphere should be buoyant, even if his metal frame was not. What was this feeling? Where was this place? Slowly, the reploid opened his eyes. His vision was greeted by a fuzzy sensation. His body was surrounded by a liquid of some sort; most likely water. The light of the sun filtered through the substance, producing a blue-green glow about him. With a sluggishness that came with fatigue and bewilderment, Zero lifted himself up.
His great streams of artificial golden hair bounced only slightly in the wispy world about him, weighed down by their own machine-made nature. Zero’s bemused gaze swiveled about slowly, as if with one foot still on the threshold of sleep. Everywhere he looked only led to a black abyss, mysterious and far-off. Was this the ocean? Was he now staring down into seafloor itself? How did he come to be here? Why was everything so…..clean?
Suddenly, he felt an odd sensation across his leg. Glancing down in a drowsy manner, his eyes fell upon a big green crab scuttling across his lap.
Fish for miles around scattered at the scream that reverberated throughout the waters of their home. A cloud of dust drifted in the void, left behind by one panicked reploid. Though he would reach the shore eventually, his only thoughts were on escaping the terrible crustacean wrath of the three-inch crab.

Digging in the Sand
Character's name: Zero/Rockman Zero
What anime are you from: Rockman Zero (manga)
Age: Over 100
Sex: Male
History:
A great deal of Zero’s past is not part of his personal memory. In fact, he knows about all events prior to waking in Neo Arcadia only because it was told to him.
Zero was originally the reploid known as Rockman Zero. He was hailed as a hero, fighting alongside X to defeat the maverick reploids who would attempt to destroy humanity. X and Rockman Zero eventually won their battle, but at a cost. Humans no longer trusted reploids, and all those of the time were ordered to report to a government facility to be retired. Rockman Zero disobeyed this order, fighting the government forces and fleeing to an unknown location. It would be 100 years before he was seen again.
Rockman Zero was later discovered sleeping in an abandoned facility by some local children, where he awakened to save them from a maverick mechaniloid. They soon discovered his alter-ego, Zero. Zero is hypothesized to be a means for Rockman Zero to conserve power, which would explain his affable personality and lack of fighting skills in this stage. He was soon detected by the government forces, and eventually forced to fight to save the humans he had inadvertently endangered.
Zero, with help from his more combat-oriented side, eventually teamed up with Dr Ciel and the resistance group she had formed to shelter reploids. After protecting them from one of Neo Arcadia’s generals, he was directed toward the base known as Heaven, deep in the capital. Rockman Zero fought his way there, and eventually came face-to-face with the government’s head, Cial. He advised Cial to accept peace with her sister, but she refused and instead pitted him against her ultimate reploid. Though Rockman Zero failed, Zero found the strength to deliver the final blow himself. Cial eventually came to terms with her defeat and joined Ciel to find a better solution.
Personality:
Zero appears frail both physically and mentally. He is usually cheerful, but becomes frightened by rather simple things that would never be able to harm his mechanical frame. He is also quite cowardly in this form, and is usually the last person to do anything with any form of risk to himself. He is quite caring though, and if a friend or loved one is on the line he can be counted on to rush headfirst into danger, if with tears in his eyes.
As Rockman Zero, his demeanor does a total flip. Rockman Zero is a warrior at heart, keeping a straight face, speaking relatively little and displaying little emotion in most situations. Where Zero might flee in fright, Rockman Zero will charge into with the will to do battle. His basic principles are still the same though, and he will put himself in harms way to protect an ally if necessary.
Weapons/Powers:
Rockman Zero is naturally agile, to the point where he can run up the side of a building with only his speed alone. As a machine he is physically superior to the average human in terms of reflexes and endurance, and even without weapons he is superior to the average man. It should be noted that Zero technically possesses these traits, but lack proper knowledge of combat. He is also unaware of how to properly access his weapons.

- Buster Shot: A handheld energy pistol. While it has the highest range of his arsenal, it has difficulty damaging anything overly solid. The gun’s basic power source can only stand bursts of three to four shots at a time, making full-on barrages risky.
- Z-Saber: A sword made of pure energy. Only the hilt is solid, and resembles a canister with controls and circuitry. Though it is an old weapon even by Zero’s standards, it is his most trusted and powerful means of combat. The Z-Saber has been extensively modified, now acting as Rockman Zero’s final two weapons. It also comes with interchangeable fire, thunder, and ice chips, which grant the sword elemental properties. Lastly, the hilt can be inserted into the Buster Shot to act as a power cell, granting the gun the ability to charge a shot for greater power. Element chips can influence shots so charged.
- Shield Boomerang: Rockman Zero attaches the hilt of the Z-Saber to his forearm, where it can spin like a rotor. This converts the slicing power of the sword to an effective shield. Since the shield is in motion instead of being fully solid, energy projectiles can be deflected instead of simply blocked. Once the rotation has started, the weapon can be thrown like a boomerang. It thus acts as a buzz saw.
- Chain Rod: When a special command is punched, the Z-Saber splits into multiple segments held together by a single solid strand, giving it the appearance of a bladed whip. The Chain Rod is flexible, allowing it to be used as a whip, and the segments maintain their cutting power. It is most commonly used as a grappling hook.
