Digging in the Sand
Character's name: Ryo Bakura
What anime are you from: Yu Gi Oh
Age: 17 (Yami: Unknown but looks to be in his early 20's when transformed)
Sex: Male
History:
While on a trip in Egypt, Bakura's father, the curator of the Domino City Museum, purchased an ornamental ring from a street peddler, which he gave to his son because - according to the animated series - it was connected with the Duel Monsters card game, which Bakura was fond of. In truth, this unassuming object was the Millennium Ring, one of the seven mystically-empowered Millennium Items. Contained within the Millennium Ring was an evil spirit, which took possession of Bakura, and came to be known as Yami Bakura ("Dark Bakura," in English). Unlike the similar relationship between Yugi Mutou and the spirit of his Millennium Puzzle, the spirit of the ring is a malignant entity, and completely suppresses Bakura's soul when it takes over his body.
Beyond these facts, however, the actual identity of the Spirit of the Ring is fraught with complication. Writings about the series would often state that the spirit within the ring was that of a tomb robber from ancient Egypt (who would later be named "Thief King Bakura", detailed below) and Yami Bakura delivered several remarks that corroborated the claim, without explicitly identifying himself. Conversely, however, during the manga version of the final story arc of the series, Dark Bakura explicitly identifies himself as a fragment of the soul of the Dark God, Zorc Necrophades... and yet, within the same story, also refers to the thief's soul existing within the Millennium Ring. Although not discussed in detail in the anime (where the reference to the thief's soul is not made, and Yami Bakura is identified only as Zorc), the manga establishes that Zorc is capable of possessing other beings, and that eventually, his soul becomes "as one" with those of these victims (specifically, this was described as happening to the High Priest Ahkenaden), so from this, it may be presumed that the Spirit of the Ring is the soul of Thief King Bakura, subsumed by that of Zorc Necrophades.
Personality:
Ryo: Kind, respectful. Does whatever he can for his friends and would do anything for them. Is a wonderful encourager and loves to be as helpful as he can be.
Yami: Is hate filled. Loves to see others struggle and hates to see Yugi continuously be successful at everything. Being an excellent dullest, Yami continues to try his best and wants to surpass Yugi.

Sun, the breezy air. It all felt so good to Ryo Bakura as he stood to the beach. The sand between his toes. He took a deep breath in as the fresh ocean wind swept through around him. His hair dancing in the wind as was his Millennium Ring around his neck. He quickly held it in place with his right hand and took his hair back with his left. looking around for anyone. He'd never truly stood at the beach before. His father constantly traveled and it was always tiresome. Finally, there was a time for relaxation. It was such a wonderful feeling.
"Today is going to be a wonderful day!" He announced to himself as he turned away from the wind momentarily to look at his background. He heard there was a card shop around town near by. That was one of his true reasons for being by the beach. it just happened to be near by. bakura only wished he had his friends with him, but as of late, they have not been around. With him traveling with his father, he had not been able to catch up or make new friends. Hopefully, it's all work out this time and he'd be able to stay long enough to make at least ONE good friend.
His smile quickly faded into a clenched toothed sneer. Holding his head in pain. "Ah! n-not again..!" He hissed through his teeth as he held his head with both hands. "Oh yes..." A cold voice left his lips at the same moment Bakura felt his body shake for a moments time. He now felt as if he was not in control anymore. But someone else. Then suddenly, all went black.
"It's my turn to have a bit of fun. Hehehe..." The cold voice was that of Yami Bakura. An ancient evil that remained in Bakura's body within the Millennium Item around his neck. A constant smile remained over his face. Evil written all over his face. "Let's see what we can find here today." He chuckled, giving a crack of his knuckles.
