Alias: Kuro-puu, Big Dog, Kuro-daddy, etc.(a lot more nicknames are known, for Fai is the source of them)
Anime: Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE
Age: Unknown
Sex: Male
History: THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT READ ALL 215 CHAPTERS OF Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE!
Kurogane grew up in the province of Suwa in Nihon. His father was the lord of the province and a great warrior whose job was to protect Suwa and its people. His mother was a miko who also protected the land with a magical barrier or protective ward, which was also called a kekkai that prevented demons from entering. Kurogane was an energetic and outgoing child who never wanted to disappoint his mother and wanted to be just like his father. Under his supervision, Kurogane was trained in the use of the katana and also learned his father's special technique, Hama Ryû-ô Jin, which later on became his trademark. His ambition was to become stronger, not for the sake of being strong, but so he could use his strength to protect the people of Suwa and his parents.
When Kurogane started to grow older, trouble began. His mother had started up a disease and would often collapse, coughing up blood. His father was also away most of the time to fight against the demons. Finally, one day, Kurogane came home to find his father seriously injured and his katana in shards. Seeing that he needed more power, Kurogane's father decided to take the katana Ginryû, their family heirloom, to fight the demons. With the blessing of Kurogane's mother, his father left to fight, leaving Kurogane to protect his mother at home and told him that he should always use his strength to protect the ones he loves.
After Kurogane’s father left, Kurogane’s mother fell sick once more. Even though she was in a critical condition, she insisted that she be taken to the Inoriba to pray for success against the demons. Moments later, Kurogane found his mother in the Inoriba, impaled by a large sword with a peculiar bat-like carving for its hilt that had suddenly appeared out of a void and disappeared before Kurogane could react. Despite his efforts, he could not stem the blood flow and she died. At the moment of her death, the kekkai broke and the demons swarmed through the province. One of the demons approached Kurogane carrying his father's severed arm, the hand still carrying Ginryû in its death-grip. As the demon devoured the arm, the katana fell to the ground. Kurogane's resolve broke and, in fierce rage, he took up his father's sword and charged towards the demons.
Hours later, the Empress of Japan, Amaterasu, arrived with her army. She assumed that both the lord and the lady of Suwa had died, and demons swarmed the province as predicted in the dreams of her younger sister, the miko-princess Tomoyo. They found that all the demons were killed with Kurogane still in the ruins of his home.
As Amaterasu approached Kurogane, who was too shocked to fully comprehend all that had happened and was still carrying his mother's body, attempted to attack her. The empress ordered her ninjas to attack, but soon realized that Kurogane had lost his sanity and would do more harm than good when he killed all her warriors with ease. Amaterasu decided to personally subdue him, but was interrupted by Tomoyo. Rather than let her sister subdue Kurogane, Tomoyo suggested that she do so. Using her magic, she stopped Kurogane from attacking her, knelt beside him and calmed Kurogane down by telling him a couple of words. At those words, she managed to snap him out of his madness. Realization swept over him and he broke down in tears, and finally, exhausted, he fell asleep.
When he woke up, he found himself cleaned and his hand in bandages. Beside him, little Tomoyo, carrying Ginryû in her lap, explained that he was in Shirasagi Castle. She introduced herself as Princess Tomoyo, telling Kurogane how she gained her position. Kurogane asked that Ginryû be buried with his mother's body since his father had no remains. Tomoyo agreed to grant his request and also informed him that she would commission another katana exactly like Ginryû for him so that he may continue to fulfill his father's wishes.
Later, Kurogane was accepted as a ninja of Shirasagi Castle, yet he still continued to search for the carrier of the sword that killed his mother. He never found the true murderer, until when Syaoran saw his memories and told him that Fei Wong, had killed his mother. During the battle between Fei Wong and Syaoran, Kurogane was suddenly engulfed with a huge blast of light, and he found himself on a beach, nowhere near the battlefield.
Personality: Kurogane has a straight-forward, strong, moody temper. He shows his emotions and feelings directly, and he doesn’t try to fake out his emotions or find a different way to express them. Kurogane is also not the extremely cheerful type of person, even though sometimes he himself is funny (but Kurogane doesn’t realize this himself). When Kurogane shares something, he is always very serious about his idea and is not kidding around.
Kurogane’s emotions are always very easy to see through. His facial expressions are somewhat exaggerated, and you can usually predict what type of mood he is in. He never hides away his feelings, but the only thing Kurogane never talks about is his past-life. Also, Kurogane isn’t a very talkative type of person, and he is a little skeptic around strangers. Around people he knows (like Fai, Mokana, and Syaoran) Kurogane talks freely. Kurogane is also a little rude around new people.
Once you get to know Kurogane like how Fai, Syaoran, and Mokana, he’s a very responsible (thus the nickname Kuro-daddy from Fai’s array of Kuro nicknames). When you get to know Kurogane more, you can also see that Kurogane is loyal, strong-willed, and faithful. For example, when Princess Tomoyo sent Kurogane on the journey, Kurogane still stayed affectionate toward his master. Kurogane also is noble and proud, which is a reason why he gets so annoyed when he is teased my Fai and/or Mokana. Even though it’s kind of hard to tell, Kurogane does really care about those he has been attached to.
During battle Kurogane is a bit ruthless, but he doesn’t kill his opponent because of the curse Princess Tomoyo gave him before he was sent away, but Kurogane does kill when it is absolutely necessary. Kurogane can also be sarcastic every once in a while, and he can be very calm in situations, too. Though you can hardly see it, when Kurogane is pleased he smiles for real, and he seems a bit more cheerful than his usual self.
An analogy of Kurogane’s personality is that with a strong watchdog. He will yell/bark at you if he gets him annoyed, or sometimes Kurogane will do it out of nowhere. Kurogane will be nice to his owner or those who treat him nicely. Also, Kurogane’s has his own ways of showing his negative and positive emotions.
Weapons/Powers:His first weapon was a sword given to him called Ginryû, which means Silver Dragon. Then, as a price, Kurogane had to give Ginryû to Yuuko. In Outo, though, Kurogane got a new sword called Sôhi, which means Blue Ice. Kurogane’s powers aren’t really super-natural, but he is one of the best swordsmen, and he has amazing strength.
Likes:Fighting, serving Princess Tomoyo, booze, and Shounen manga
Dislikes:His nicknames made by Fai, being annoyed by both Mokana and Fai, Yuuko, when Fai hides/lies something from him, and Fei Wong

Sample RP: Kurogane fell from the sky, landing in a huge thump on a soft surface. Kurogane grunted, and found himself on top of a pile of sand, with the ocean behind his feet. He slowly got up to his feet, confused at the change of events. Just a second ago, he, Fai, and Syaoran were in the heat of battle, trying to help the real Sakura, who turned out to be that witch, Yuuko herself. “If this is because of that stupid fuzzball, just wait until I get my hands on him.” Kurogane seethed under his breath, as he brushed off the sand that clung to his clothes.
Kurogane quickly glanced around his surroundings, and saw that he was on a beach, with the endless ocean ahead of his, and a tropical forest behind him. “Hmm, looks like the world we landed in with the raging wind, and talking rabbit people.” Kurogane noted to himself. Instinctively, Kurogane searched for things to build a shelter and fire. After an hour or so searching for resources, Kurogane muttered to himself, “Nothing is on the beach.” With that said, Kurogane knew that he would have to go into the forest, “I just hope there are no talking rabbit people here.” Kurogane mumbled to himself as he trudged towards the forest.
Once inside the forest Kurogane remembered the time when both he and Fai where separated from the group. It was a long stay in the world, since they went from past to present. Now, this time, Kurogane was all by himself. “This is just wonderful, just wonderful.” Kurogane ranted to himself, picking up any natural resources that would be of use to him. Kurogane continued to mutter to himself, “Stupid witch, stupid fuzzball,” until his bent down head slammed into a coconut tree, and a coconut fell on top of his head a few milliseconds later. Kurogane cursed under his breath, and got up straight to his feet, rubbing the spot where the coconut fell. “Well, at least I found some type of food.” Kurogane said sarcastically to himself. Kurogane knew there was no other way to get the coconuts, even though he was extremely tall, so Kurogane spent the rest of the day banging his head on the trunk of the tree, collecting the coconuts that fell from it. “Stupid place.” Kurogane growled as he set up camp.
After he set up camp, and had a dinner of coconuts, Kurogane made a stake out of the extra wood he had collected, and waded into the freezing water of the ocean. As he cursed at the water, Kurogane started to “fish” stabbing his stake into any fish that came within his line of sight. A couple of hours later, Kurogane gave up, and returned to his camp site with a measly amount of ten fish. Kurogane decided to eat two of them, and he conserved the others for later meals. Kurogane gave a sigh of tiredness and wondered where the others were. Realizing his concern for other people, Kurogane shook his head. “They can take of themselves.” Kurogane said to himself. Content of the day’s events, Kurogane settled himself down, and went to sleep, the moon’s rays shining down upon the beach he slept on.
